sample timeline.

This is an ideal wedding day timeline based off a 6:00 ceremony. It may not seem like the most exciting part of wedding planning, but this can make or break your photography. The times here are based off a wedding in which the couple has decided to do a first look. Since each wedding is different, your timeline will be specifically designed to fit your needs and vision.

1:30-2:30 Bridal Details

A lot of time and thought went into selecting your bridal details and they are an important part of the story. We like to build in time at the beginning to shoot the invitation suite, rings, bouquets, dress, shoes, and more. During this time, we will get some shots of the bride and her girls getting ready. If the groom is nearby, we will grab some of him and his groomsmen as they get ready.

2:30-2:45 Bridal Prep

The moment you’ve been waiting for. It’s time for the bride to get into her dress! We usually have the mother of the bride and bridesmaids dressed before to ensure everyone is looking their best in these images. You also have the option of doing a first look with the bridesmaids and/or father of the bride. Once the bride is in her gown, she can put on her shoes and jewelry and we will shoot some additional bridal portraits.

2:45-3:00 First Look

This is where things slow down for just a bit and you get to share an intimate moment reserved for only the couple and the photographers. During this time, we try to hang back as much as possible and allow you the space to share your thoughts and emotions. This is a moment when it’s just the two of you that may not get at any other time in the day.

3:00-3:45 Couple Portraits

Following the first look, we will begin taking romantic bride and groom portraits while while the initial excitement is still present! Most of the time light determines where we shoot, so we will spend a moment scouting out the perfect spots once the time approaches.

3:45-4:15 Wedding Party

Now it’s time for bridal party portraits. During this time we will get shots of the guys and girls both separately and together, as well as individuals with the bride and groom. We buffer in an extra few minutes throughout the day in case of unexpected delays, but one way to stay on schedule is to make sure boutonnieres are pinned and bouquets are ready to go as soon as it is time for group photos to begin.

4:15-4:45 Family Portraits

We like to keep this time to immediate family members and grandparents only. We give you the option to do four large group photos immediately following the ceremony with extended family members. This is the only time we work from a shot list, and these groupings will be decided on before the wedding day. In order to stay on schedule, additional groupings will not be added the day of. Following family portraits, the bride is put away to freshen up and be out of sight of guests arriving. We will use this time to photograph ceremony and reception details.

Optional : Just Married Photos

Now that you’re officially husband and wife, we will briefly whisk you away for some celebratory just married photos! These are always the most relaxed and fun scheduled photos of the day. We are happy to consult with you on the ceremony time if you’d like to plan around ideal lighting.
